The Tobacco Dependence Program (TDP) is dedicated to reducing the harm to health caused by tobacco use. The TDP particularly aims to provide expertise on quitting smoking for those who need it most.
We do this through education, treatment, research and advocacy.

The Tobacco Dependence Clinic opened its doors in January 2001 to provide specialist assessment and treatment for people who want help with a problem relating to tobacco dependence.

On July 1, 2010, NJ Department of Health and Senior Services discontinued statewide NJ Quitcenter funding. Treatment functions of UMDNJ - Tobacco Dependence Clinic are being reconfigured by the UMDNJ - Tobacco Dependence Program with support from CINJ, RWJMS, and SPH.
