| The U.S. Food and Drug Administration's proposed regulations on tobacco of August |
| 1995 included: a. A ban on the sale of tobacco products to anyone under 18. b. A ban |
| on tobacco sales via vending machines and mail order. c. A ban on outdoor tobacco |
| ads near schools. d. Allow only black and white, text only tobacco ads in publications |
| with significant youth readership. e. A ban on tobacco brand names and logos on |
| T-shirts and caps. f. A ban on tobacco company sponsorship of sports events. A |
| requirement for tobacco companies to fund a $150 million-a-year ad campaign urging |
| young people not to smoke. |
